Heads up, St. Louis drivers — it's another week of road closures and lane restrictions that could impact your commute. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced a series of construction activities starting today, and continuing through May 21. These projects are part of ongoing infrastructure maintenance and upgrades affecting various highways and ramps across the region.
Today, those traveling northbound on Route 141 will find the exit ramp to Route 340 (Olive) closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., as crews work to seal the bridge deck on Olive over Route 141, according to MoDOT's website. For those looking for real-time roadway conditions or traffic updates, resources are available at MoDOT's traveler information map and the Gateway Guide.
Several ongoing closures remain in effect throughout the city. Noteworthy restrictions include one southbound lane on I-55 from I-44 to north of Bates and two southbound lanes north of Bates to north of Weber. Additionally, the ramp from Lafayette/Truman to southbound I-55 will remain closed through 2025. Motorists navigating through the affected areas should anticipate possible delays and consider alternative routes if possible.
Other closures announced for the week include intermittent lane restrictions on I-64 between Sarah and Jefferson, I-170 from Scudder Road to Route 115, and various sections of Route 21 and Route 100 throughout St. Louis County. There will also be nightly lane closures on I-64 in St. Charles County, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., affecting the eastbound lane from Route 364 to Route K, and the westbound lane from Route 364 to Route K. These closures are all subject to changes based on weather conditions.
MoDOT advises that all work and closures may be shifted due to inclement weather, which could further alter travel plans. For additional information on daily road closures and specific lane restrictions, drivers can refer to the detailed listing provided by MoDOT.
