A Staten Island woman, age 42, was struck in the back by a pellet gun while carrying her 2-month-old baby last Friday. The disturbing incident was captured on video, showing the gunman aimlessly sticking the barrel of the pellet gun out from the front passenger window of a silver sedan. Despite her injuries, the woman refused medical attention on the scene, as reported by NBC New York.
The incident occurred outside of 127 Jerome Avenue in Arrochar just after 7 p.m. While the woman suffered minor injuries, the police have not confirmed if the baby was also harmed during the assault.
The New York Police Department has released surveillance images of the suspect, who is seen wearing a bright orange jacket. The NYPD is actively seeking any information to help apprehend the suspect. A Crime Stoppers reward of $3,500 is on offer for details that can aid the investigation. The suspect's car was last observed heading west down Evergreen Avenue, according to the details shared by The New York Post.
