
Last Monday, at around 4:30 a.m., a 56-year-old man was riding his bicycle east on Jahant Road, just east of the State Route 99 East Frontage Road. At the same time, an unknown vehicle was also traveling east on Jahant Road, approaching the bicyclist from behind at an unknown speed, according to the Califoria Highway Patrol, Stockton Facebook page.
For reasons still under investigation, the driver of the vehicle struck the bicyclist from behind. The impact threw the man into an irrigation ditch on the south side of the road. Tragically, he died at the scene from his injuries, as reported by the Califoria Highway Patrol, Stockton.
The driver fled the scene without stopping. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the CHP Stockton Office at 209-938-4800, as per the Califoria Highway Patrol, Stockton.
