
The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed the apprehension of a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting on H Street in Northeast that shook the local community earlier this year. The incident, which claimed the life of a young man, came to a partial closure on Wednesday when authorities made an arrest.
An arrest warrant issued by the DC Superior Court resulted in the capture of Dione Dorn, a 42-year-old resident of Northwest, DC. The arrest was carried out by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, and Dorn has now been charged with First Degree Murder while Armed (Premeditated). The Metropolitan Police Department's news release provided details on the case that has attracted the public's attention since February.
The shooting took place late in the evening of Tuesday, February 18, around 9:42 PM Officers who responded to the 700 block of H Street, Northeast, found Jaydon Parson, the 23-year-old victim, with critical gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of DC Fire and EMS, Parson's injuries proved fatal.
