Last Wednesday, Sacramento County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Kevin Thao. He is connected to the 2023 South Sacramento nightclub shooting that killed two people, as reported by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff's Homicide Detectives investigated the case and reconstructed the events. Thao was involved in a fight at Sacto By Night Lounge, where several women appeared to have the upper hand. After the fight, Thao fired a gun into a crowded area, hitting Binh Do, 51, and Ryu Her, 23. Neither victim was involved in the fight, as stated by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office on their Facebook page, deputies found two victims at the scene on November 26, 2023. State Highway Patrol officers stopped a vehicle trying to leave and arrested passengers on firearms charges. After further investigation, Kevin Thao, who was 18 years old at the time of the incident, was linked to the murders. He is now in custody at Sacramento County Main Jail and is not eligible for bail.
