In the early morning, around 1:37 a.m., on the 800 block of 7th Street, Northwest, assailants pulled two victims from their vehicle, assaulted them, and fled with their belongings. The altercation, heightened by the brandishing and striking with a firearm, resulted in injuries to both victims, with one needing hospital care, as per the Metropolitan Police Department.
The follow-up by the First District officers was swift and upon finding the stolen vehicle in the 1700 block of First Street, Northeast, multiple individuals were encountered, leading to the arrest of 26-year-old Devon Rogers from Northwest, DC. Charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun), Rogers was found alongside the victim's reclaimed property. Despite the arrest, the case hasn't closed, with the police urging those knowledgeable of the incident to come forward, offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to a conviction.
