
A police chase ended in the Katy area when a man driving a stolen vehicle shot himself. The incident happened near the intersection of Highway 290 and Becker Road at around 1:45 p.m., as reported by Click2houston.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez shared on social media that the suspect caused a self-inflicted injury after stopping his vehicle at the 290/Becker intersection. In a Facebook post, he wrote, "The male driver shot himself." Katy Police Department officials were seen removing the man from the car and providing immediate assistance.
According to the Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez on his Facebook page, Lifeflight was called to the scene due to the man's serious injuries. Emergency services responded quickly, and no officers or bystanders were injured. The suspect was taken to the hospital, and his condition is unknown. Authorities are still investigating the events that led to the end of the pursuit. The suspect’s identity has not been released.
