Rancho Cordova police arrested a carjacking suspect after locating a stolen vehicle parked near the department’s headquarters. Officers had received a report of the stolen vehicle in the area and began searching the neighborhood. Sgt. Wood identified a vehicle matching the description and saw a man walking away nearby, as reported by the Rancho Cordova Police Department.
The suspect was detained, and after a “field show up” with the victim and the collection of additional evidence, he was taken into custody. He is facing a felony carjacking charge, as stated by the Rancho Cordova Police Department.
According to the Rancho Cordova Police Department on their Facebook page, a suspect was recently arrested after unintentionally encountering officers during routine patrol. The department credited the arrest to "good heads up police work" by Sgt. Wood and his team.
