Last Sunday night, an impaired driver was responsible for a multi-vehicle crash in Seattle that left a pedestrian seriously injured. Patrol officers and the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) responded to the collision at the intersection of Madison Street and 8th Avenue around 10 p.m., where they discovered the injured 42-year-old man, according to the Seattle Police Department's blotter.
The Seattle Police Department swiftly took charge to administer medical assistance to him before he was transferred to Harborview Medical Center. Fortunately for the unnamed pedestrian, he was in a serious but stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. The police's investigation into the crash revealed that the 26-year-old suspect ran a red light and collided with a westbound car, subsequently hitting the pedestrian on the sidewalk, which led to a third car getting involved in the incident.
Officers at the scene assessed the woman's condition and concluded she was driving under the influence. Police also found a large alcoholic beverage in her car, leading to her arrest on suspicion of Vehicular Assault. "Police arrested the suspect for Investigation of Vehicular Assault," the Seattle Police Department blotter detailed. Authorities encourage anyone with insights into the unsettling incident to get in touch and assist by calling 911.
