
Earlier today, a fire took hold of a vacant two-story house in North Tampa, prompting a swift response from Tampa Fire Rescue crews. According to a report by WFLA, the blaze at the home on the 8700 block of North Hyaleah Road was fully engulfed in flames when fire services arrived on the scene.
With the home being vacant, thankfully, no injuries were sustained, battling the fire that was deemed under control within about 30 minutes. Enveloped in the dark predawn hours, the fire illuminated the sky as crews worked to contain it, with FOX 13 Tampa Bay stating that firefighters had arrived at the location shortly before 5 a.m. to heavy flames and smoke billowing from the home.
While the immediate danger has been averted, the cause of the fire remains shrouded in uncertainty. Officials noted that they are investigating to pinpoint what ignited the inferno in these abandoned quarters. As stated by WTSP, the first crew arrived to find the building with heavy smoke and flames piercing through the roof, a sight that underscored the intensity of the fire that had taken hold.
The incident has caused no small stir among North Tampa residents, waking to the blaze that upset the quiet of their neighborhood.
