Wheaton's popular "Taste of Wheaton" festival is making a comeback on June 1, as reported by Montgomery County's press release. This all-day event is set to feature an array of local restaurants, live music, family activities, and it’s a free ticket to experience the area's diverse cultural offerings. Taking place rain or shine at Marian Fryer Town Plaza, near the Wheaton Metro, attendees can dive into a world where international cuisine meets hometown vibes.
"Taste of Wheaton is a celebration of everything that makes this County special—our diversity, our food, our music and our people," County Executive Marc Elrich remarked in a statement made by Montgomery County. The festival not only showcases the best of local eats with flavors from around the world, including Korean, Ethiopian, and Mexican, but it also supports local businesses and artists.
The event promises more than just food; it's a cultural hub with activities for every age. Tru2Hue's art and craft sessions will stir the creative spirits while skaters can roll into fun at the pop-up roller rink, a part of the "Wheels in Wheaton" initiative. Meanwhile, the beer and wine garden will be a place to unwind with a cold one, featuring local brews from Saints Row Brewing. Live performances are slated to light up the mainstage all day with artists like Gordon Sterling and The People, Crank Caviar, and Quimbao, as detailed by Montgomery County.
For those planning to attend, getting there couldn't be easier. Located directly above the Wheaton Metro station, the festival is within reach by bus, car, and bike. Plus, there’s no need to worry about the cost of parking since free public parking is nearby, as per Montgomery County.
