Harlem has witnessed another incident of its youth being caught in the crosshairs of gun violence, as a 15-year-old boy was shot multiple times in front of a New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) building. ABC7NY reports the shooting occurred just after 2 p.m. yesterday outside of 1370 5th Ave. The teen, whose identity has not been disclosed, was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
The shooting, which took place near King Towers, adds to the disturbing trend of violence affecting the city's young residents. As stated by The New York Post, this traumatic event happened around 2:10 p.m. A description of the suspect still remains to be released by the police, and no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
