A recent shooting in LaSalle Park has tragically cut short the life of a teenage male on Sunday, resulting in an active investigation by homicide detectives. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reported that the emergency call came in at approximately 7:33 p.m., directing officers to a residence in the 1000 block of LaSalle Park Court.
Upon arrival at the scene the police found the young victim suffering from a gunshot wound, emergency medical services were rapidly dispatched, and the teen was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital where he, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim has not been released as the investigation into the shooting persists, and detectives are piecing together the events that led to this unnecessary loss of life.
Initial findings from the preliminary investigation suggest that the teen was outdoors near the location where he was found before being shot. As the community reels from the shock, details regarding suspects or motives for the shooting remain scarce; the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is expected to provide updates once more information surfaces.
The public is asked to come forward with any information that might assist in resolving this case.
