
On May 5th, a suspected shooting incident sparked an immediate law enforcement response in Temecula, which subsequently led to three arrests, as confirmed by the Riverside County Sheriff's Office. At around 5:22 p.m., deputies were summoned to the vicinity of Temecula Parkway and Redhawk Parkway following a report of gunfire exchanged between vehicles; this altercation resulted in two individuals arriving at the hospital with injuries consonant with gunshot wounds, both have since been released.
A vigorous investigation carried out by Southwest Sheriff’s Station investigators, in partnership with adjacent agencies, pinned down a 16-year-old from Pala as the alleged primary perpetrator, leading to the juvenile's surrender and subsequent detention in juvenile hall on charges of attempted murder. Details of the incident remain under wraps, with the ongoing investigation limiting the release of further information. After the youngster's apprehension, law enforcement executed search warrants at residences in Pala and Vista, which culminated in the apprehension of Shawna Harper, 37, on suspicion of aiding the young suspect and being an accessory to attempted murder, and Alphonso Zavala, 36, for felony weapons violations, with both parties now facing their share of the judicial process at the Cois Byrd Detention Center.
