A neighbor’s call about someone knocking on a door before dawn ended with Burbank police arresting actress Brittany Curran on suspicion of misdemeanor public intoxication and disorderly conduct. Officers responded around 2 a.m. last Monday to West Palm Avenue, near Magnolia Boulevard and the 5 Freeway, and found Curran showing what police described as objective signs of alcohol intoxication.

According to NBC4 Los Angeles, someone had reported a suspicious person knocking on a door, prompting Burbank police to respond to the scene. Officers reportedly asked Curran multiple times to return to her nearby home, but she refused, and she was ultimately arrested and booked on suspicion of public intoxication and disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. She was cited and released a few hours later, the station reported.

TMZ offered a similar account of the confrontation, reporting that police asked Curran multiple times to go home before she refused and was taken into custody. The outlet's report, published the same day as NBC4's, noted that this was not Curran's first brush with a public intoxication charge this year.

A Second Arrest in the Same Year

Curran was previously arrested on a public intoxication charge on Feb. 13 by the Burbank Police Department, according to People. An arrest log cited in that report identified Curran as allegedly drunk in public and charged with disorderly conduct; she was not held on bail and was released from police custody the same day. TMZ’s report on the October arrest similarly noted that she had also been arrested for public intoxication back in February.

The two reports differ slightly on Curran's age: NBC4 identified her as 36 at the time of the October arrest, while People's February report listed her as 35.

Her Television Career

Curran is known for playing Fen across four seasons of the Syfy fantasy series The Magicians, a role also noted by People in its coverage of the actress. NBC4's report additionally credits her with appearances in Netflix's Dear White People and TNT's Men of a Certain Age. People's report separately notes she played Katie Nolan, Kelly Severide's half-sister, on Chicago Fire.

NBC4 reported that it reached out to Curran's representatives for comment following the October arrest.
