
Chicago police have taken three men into custody in connection with the shooting of two individuals on the West Side, with the alleged offenders facing charges that range from aggravated battery with a firearm to possession of a stolen vehicle, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Dalvin Mullen, 27, is facing a multitude of charges, including felonies for aggravated battery and discharging a firearm, repeated possession of a firearm by a felon, aggravated fleeing with an altered registration plate, and possession of a substance with intent to manufacture, among others. He was apprehended on the 100 block of N. Lotus Ave., meanwhile, Byjon Grant, 18, and Byron Atkins, 19, who were both arrested on the 800 block of N. Kolin Ave have each been charged with one count of felony aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in a vehicle while under 21, Grant and Atkins also picked up a misdemeanor for reckless conduct.
The three suspects were identified following an incident on May 7 that left a 26-year-old male and a 25-year-old male injured from gunshot wounds. The event occurred in the evening around 6:22 p.m., in the 700 block of N. Spaulding Ave., according to the same CPD release. Law enforcement officials made the arrests on W. Jackson Blvd. and S. Millard Ave., with all three offenders subsequently charged with their respective offences.
