Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel provided an update to the press earlier today, confirming that the deceased individuals were an adult male and an adult female. In a statement obtained by the Des Moines Register, Bethel confirmed that while the nine surviving victims are in stable condition, the city's sense of security is once again shaken by this act of violence. Witnesses, caught by the surprise of bullets in the night, reported the shooting at approximately 10:27 p.m.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and as officials comb the scene, weapons remain unrecovered. 6ABC reported the location of the shooting to be at the intersection of Lemon Hill Drive and Poplar Drive, which was quickly turned into a sprawling crime scene.
