Milwaukee communities are reeling after two people were killed and six others injured in a series of shootings yesterday, according to local reports. The first fatal shooting occurred early in the morning, around 5:50 a.m., near 35th Street and Florist Avenue. WISN reported that a 48-year-old died at the scene while another individual, aged 42, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The second fatality was recorded in the evening at approximately 9:05 p.m. on Teutonia Avenue near Ring Street, as FOX6 News detailed a 36-year-old pronounced dead at the location. Accompanying the tragic loss, a 37-year-old was transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds that were not deemed fatal. The violence spanned several neighborhoods, with additional shootings reported at points throughout the city including at midnight, 1 a.m., 4:25 a.m., and just before 7 p.m.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel disclosed further details of the day's shootings. Victims, ranging in age from 23 to 45, were taken to hospital for treatment following incidents at 35th and Burnham, 24th and Clarke, 76th and Mill, and North Dr. Lester Carter and Florist. These individuals sustained non-fatal gunshot wounds according to the police. The total count of this day's shootings reached six different locations across Milwaukee.
