
Yesterday morning, a shooting in Davenport resulted in two individuals being injured, as reported by the Polk County Sheriff's Office. The incident occurred on Famagusta Drive at around 3:38 a.m., prompting multiple 911 calls. According to WESH, witnesses reported a confrontation between a group of young men that escalated to gunshots.
Responding officers encountered a scene of chaos, with participants seen running away and vehicles hastily departing the area. The Polk County Sheriff's Office stated that one of the injured was transported to the hospital by personal acquaintances while the other was found at the site of the shooting. As of now, both are reportedly suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies have yet to locate any other potential victims.
Investigative efforts are underway as authorities seek to piece together the events leading up to the violence. Information gleaned from interviews with the hospitalized victim and at the scene suggests the involvement of individuals in their late teens or early twenties.
