Two men were hospitalized following a shooting incident in Rancho Cordova on Tuesday evening. As reported by ABC10, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the event occurred along the 10000 block of Coloma Road at around 7:15 p.m. One victim, who suffered a gunshot wound to the back, managed to reach the hospital under his own power, while a second, with another gunshot wound, appeared at a different medical facility.
Authorities are trying to determine if there's a connection between the two victims and have launched an investigation into the shootings. The suspects, according to witnesses, fled the scene post-haste. In a statement obtained by ABC10, the sheriff's office remarked that the incident "appears to be targeted" and added reassurance that there isn't believed to be a threat to the general public.
Further details from a KCRA report indicate that no suspect information has been shared publicly as of yet. The investigators are still piecing together the events that led to this violent exchange. The two men injured in the shooting are both expected to survive their injuries, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said. As the inquiry into the double shooting continues, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office urges anyone with information about the incident to make contact.
