
Two men were injured in an overnight shooting in Homewood North, Pittsburgh, with the police now investigating the incident. According to a release by the Pittsburgh Police Department, the first report came from ShotSpotter activations around 12:15 a.m. at multiple locations, including Paulson Avenue, Frankstown Avenue, and Race Street.
The first victim, an adult male, was found with a gunshot wound to his leg on the 7100 block of Frankstown Avenue. Pittsburgh EMS transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was stable. Shortly after, another adult male victim who had been shot in the arm arrived at UPMC Shadyside. He, too, was in stable condition.
Witness accounts from the scene have been varied and inconclusive, providing differing descriptions of the person responsible for the shooting and a potential suspect vehicle. The Mobile Crime Unit was called to process evidence at the scene on Frankstown Avenue, indicating the seriousness of the investigation.
As the Violent Crime Unit detectives continue their investigation, they have yet to make any arrests in the shooting.
