
Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a fatal incident on Lake Grapevine, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced yesterday. The suspects, identified as illegal aliens, were involved in a series of events that led to the death of an 18-year-old woman named Ava Moore.
According to the report released by the Texas Attorney General's Office, Venezuelan national Daikerlyn Alejandra Gonzalez Gonzalez is accused of striking and killing Moore while operating a jet ski over the weekend. Aiding in her escape, another suspect, also reported as an illegal alien, helped Gonzalez flee the area after the fatal incident. He is also the aforementioned accused of committing a hit-and-run after striking another vehicle.
The fugitive apprehension effort was a coordinated endeavor, pooling the resources of multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Texas Parks and Wildlife, the Grapevine Police Department, the Dallas Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
"Ava Moore’s senseless death was caused by an illegal alien who should have never been in our country in the first place," Paxton said, as per a statement released by the Attorney General's Office. The attorney general further affirmed, "My heart breaks for Ava’s family and friends, and my prayers are with them as they face this tragedy," pledging his office's continued cooperation with law enforcement to secure justice for Moore and her loved ones.
