Two young suspects are now in custody following a grim discovery at a Wynnewood marijuana grow operation. On April 18, deputies from Garvin County responded to the site after receiving a call around 4 p.m., according to KOCO. There, they reportedly found Bao Ming Ma, 56, and Alejandro Baltazar Hernandez, 42, deceased with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
The investigation, led jointly by the Garvin County authorities and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), has resulted in the arrests of 18-year-old Whyitt Collins and a 16-year-old male, whose name has been withheld due to his status as a minor. Found after a call was made, the property in question sits near East County Road 1600 and North County Road 3320. Collins has been charged with first-degree murder and booked into Garvin County Jail. Meanwhile, the Chickasaw Nation Lighthorse Police Department proceeded with the arrest of the younger suspect, as reported by KFOR.
While the investigation remains active, details about what led to the tragic event or the motive behind it are yet to be disclosed. Early reports did not elaborate on the suspects' connection to the victims or the grow operation itself. The charges indicate the seriousness of the crime, as first-degree murder implies a premeditated act.
Further developments will be closely monitored as authorities continue to peel back the layers of this unfortunate event, detailed by KTEN.
