On Tuesday, a single-vehicle crash happened on Waterman Road, just south of Sheldon Road, around 5:03 a.m. A 21-year-old man lost control of his vehicle and hit a light pole. Two people died in the crash, as stated by the City of Elk Grove.
A car crash resulted in the deaths of the driver and a 21-year-old female passenger at the scene. The Sacramento County Coroner's Office will confirm their identities, as reported by the City of Elk Grove. Following the crash, police closed Waterman Road in both directions between Elliott Springs and Sheldon to begin an investigation. Drivers were advised to use other routes as the road remained closed.
A fatal single-vehicle crash is under investigation. Speed is being looked at as a possible factor. The roundabout at Sheldon and Waterman stayed open to help with traffic, but Waterman between Bond and Sheldon was affected during the morning commute, according to the Elk Grove Police Department on their Facebook page.
