Attorney General Ken Paxton made headlines this week with the announcement of two arrests in connection with a fatal incident on Lake Grapevine. According to the official statement released by the Attorney General's Office, a woman kayaking over the weekend was tragically killed when struck by a jet ski operated by Daikerlyn Alejandra Gonzalez Gonzalez, reportedly an undocumented immigrant from Venezuela. The collision led to an immediate flight from the scene with help from a male accomplice, and the pair were later involved in a hit-and-run car accident.
The incident, sorrowfully resulting in the death of 18-year-old Ava Moore, has sparked a coordinated manhunt by multiple law enforcement agencies. In pursuit, the Attorney General's Fugitive Apprehension Unit worked in conjunction with the Texas Parks and Wildlife, Grapevine Police Department, Dallas Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. This collective effort successfully located and detained the individuals believed to be connected to these events, as reported by the Attorney General's Office.
