Houston authorities are searching for 81-year-old Nicolas Lestrer, who has been missing since yesterday morning. Last seen walking in the Briar Forest area on Westmere Drive, Lestrer is described as 5'11", weighing 175 pounds, with blue eyes and a skull and butterfly tattoo on his right ankle. He was reportedly wearing a black tank top and gray Astros hat, and may have his orange cat with him, as Click2Houston reported.
According to KHOU, Lestrer has dementia and recently lost his wife, which may have affected his condition. The Texas Center for the Missing issued a Houston Regional Silver Alert, and volunteers from Texas EquuSearch are focusing on areas such as Buffalo Bayou. The organization has requested that local residents review home surveillance footage from around 7:30 a.m. yesterday, within a two-mile radius of his home, for any possible sightings.
The Houston Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit is investigating the case (number 562520-25) and encourages anyone with information to call 832-394-1840.
