Vallejo is reeling from a tragic incident that unfolded yesterday, involving a severe traffic collision that claimed the lives of three men. According to a report by the Vallejo Police Department (VPD), at approximately 3:07 AM, patrol units alongside the Vallejo Fire Department (VFD) responded to an emergency in Sonoma Boulevard at Valle Vista Avenue.
Upon their arrival, first responders discovered a scene marked by devastation, a vehicle had collided with the back of an unoccupied car parked on the boulevard; inside, three unresponsive adult men. One of the passengers at the rear was immediately attended to by VPD officers. Still, despite life-saving efforts, VFD had to employ extraction tools for the driver and the front passenger. All three men were pronounced dead at the location.
The VPD and the Solano County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office are working collaboratively to uncover the identities of those deceased. Next of kin notifications will be conducted by the coroner's office once identifications are confirmed. While it remains uncertain if alcohol or controlled substances played a role in this fatal incident, those particular details hang in the balance of forthcoming toxicology reports scheduled post-autopsy.
The investigation into what led up to the collision is actively conducted by the Vallejo Police Department's Traffic Division, and they are urging anyone who might have relevant information to come forward. Potential witnesses or individuals with knowledge about the crash can contact Officer Brad Kim at (707) 648-4329 or by email at [email protected], the VPD stated.
