Deputies from the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance call at a home on McCauley Road in Valley Springs. During a welfare check, they discovered a situation that led to a homicide investigation, as reported by the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office.
On Sunday, shortly after 9:40 A.M., Calaveras County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a disturbance and found a man unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead at the scene. Cody Michael Bridges, 24, was detained and arrested in connection with the incident. The District Attorney's Office and the California Department of Justice are involved. The scene was processed and cleared the following morning as authorities gathered evidence and witness statements, as stated by the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office.
According to the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page, Bridges has been booked into Calaveras County Jail on a homicide charge related to an incident on McCauley Road in Valley Springs. The investigation is ongoing and is expected to take several weeks as evidence is reviewed.
