In a bid to enhance transportation safety for all road users, Washington County has launched an online open house to solicit public input on its updated Transportation Safety Action Plan (TSAP). Community members are encouraged to participate and submit comments through June 15.
The TSAP is a comprehensive strategy designed not only to review current transportation safety policies but also to set ambitious goals aimed at reducing and ultimately eliminating fatal and severe crashes across the county. The updated plan will identify priority safety actions and develop a framework for tracking progress over time, with a particular focus on protecting vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists.
This initiative is supported by a federal Safe Streets for All (SS4A) grant and is being carried out in collaboration with Metro and other regional partners. The goal is to build a safer, more equitable transportation system that benefits all users, regardless of how they travel. County officials emphasize that community input will play a critical role in shaping the final plan. Residents are encouraged to visit the online open house to review materials, offer feedback, and share their experiences and ideas for improving local transportation safety.
To participate, visit the [online open house website] before the June 15 deadline.
