A Waterford man, Robert Ayala, 26, has been arrested on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography. The arrest followed an investigation by the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office and local police, as reported by the Waterford Police Services.

Officials received a tip about the distribution of child sexual exploitation materials in the area. This led investigators to Ayala's home in the 12000 block of Dorsey St. in Waterford. A search warrant was obtained, and digital evidence was recovered. Ayala later admitted to being involved in the illegal activities, as stated by the Waterford Police Services.

According to the Waterford Police Services on their Facebook page, Ayala initially remained silent but later made an "incriminating statement regarding possession and distribution of child pornography" and was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center. The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are requesting the public’s assistance.  No local minors have been identified in the recovered material. Authorities advise parents to monitor their children’s internet use. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Ruezga at (209) 652-0724.
