A heavy police operation unfolded on 92nd Ave and Vance St in Westminster related to a stolen vehicle investigation, resulting in the arrest of two suspects. According to Westminster PD, the Colorado Metro Auto Theft Task Force (CMATT) was tracking down the suspects as part of an ongoing operation.
Upon identifying the suspects who were wanted on multiple warrants, officers moved to safely make contact but found themselves at an impasse when the suspects chose to barricade themselves inside an apartment. The Westminster Police Department subsequently responded to assist with the situation. The incident was reported to have been resolved by 5:30 PM, with Westminster PD thanking the community for their patience.
During the standoff, residents likely witnessed an increased law enforcement presence, including marked vehicles and officers, underscoring the seriousness of the situation. Following the arrest, Westminster PD confirmed that "both suspects were taken into custody" without further incident.
