As citizens across the nation prepare to pay tribute to those who have given their lives in military service, local governments are adjusting their schedules in observance of Memorial Day. Williamson County has announced that its offices will be closed this coming Monday, May 26. The short hiatus in civic services is set to honor the solemn holiday, with a return to normal operations slated for Tuesday, May 27.
Most county offices will pause briefly, but not all services will stop. There will be no Williamson County Commissioners Court meeting on Tuesday after the holiday. If you need to do business with the court, plan for a later date.
But amidst the closings, there's a glimmer of continuity for animal lovers and potential pet adopters. According to a public notice issued by the county, the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is set to remain open. They'll be keeping their doors wide for those looking to find a furry friend or to possibly reunite with a lost one, maintaining regular hours from noon to 6 p.m. on Monday.
