An apartment in Winter Springs was the scene of a tragic incident when an eruption of fire, possibly triggered by a propane tank, claimed the life of a dog and damaged a home this morning. According to ClickOrlando, the blaze occurred at Mosswood Apartments located on Mosswood Circle around 11:30 a.m., gutting a single unit and prompting a quick response from the Seminole County Fire Department (SCFD).
While the fire was confined to one unit within the one-story complex, SCFR reported that they extinguished the flames in under four minutes, as echoed by coverage from WESH. Despite the swift action, the department could not save one canine resident, although they successfully rescued another dog and a cat from the inferno.
Officials have stated that no human injuries were observed during the incident, offering a small consolation amidst the property loss and pet fatality. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, with no immediate explanations available at the time of reporting.
