Details shared by FOX 13 News indicate that the collision happened around 8:30 p.m., when a 2020 Kia utility vehicle, driven southbound on U.S. 19 by a Tarpon Springs man, struck a 48-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man as they were crossing. The driver and his passenger, a woman, were reported by police to have stayed at the scene to assist with investigations and did not sustain injuries. As of now, police say it does not appear that they will likely face any criminal charges related to the incident.

The woman, identified as Mandy Adams, was promptly taken to AdventHealth North Pinellas County where she tragically passed away, as confirmed by IONTB. The other pedestrian, Morgan Morris, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to HCA Florida Bayonet Point Medical Center in Hudson for treatment.
