A fatal hit-and-run crash claimed the life of a woman early Monday morning in the central Las Vegas Valley. According to FOX5 Vegas, the incident occurred around 3:20 a.m. when a dark-colored sedan traveling east on Flamingo Road struck the victim as she was crossing the street east of Palos Verdes Street, a location not protected by a crosswalk.
Following the collision, the driver involved did not remain at the scene, instead, the vehicle made a mysterious disappearance into the ink of the desert's night, leaving the victim to succumb to her injuries where she was later pronounced dead by authorities upon their arrival. News3LV reports the crash near the intersection of Flamingo Road and Palos Verdes Street, near Paradise Road, an area frequented by locals and tourists alike, only adding to the tragedy and the urgency for answers.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police are still investigating and haven’t released more details about the suspect or vehicle. The woman who died in the incident has not been identified publicly yet.
