The observance, starting at 11 a.m. at the Woodbury Lions Veterans Memorial located on the City Hall campus, will feature remarks by Mayor Anne Burt and an address from Major Tyler Kistner, Senior Counterterrorism Policy and Programs Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict, according to City of Woodbury website.
Major Kistner, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran with a distinguished 14-year career, holds numerous accolades including the National Achievement Medal and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, his biography underscores the profound commitment he has to serving our country, with his history of achievement, as well as his role with the Think Great Foundation which aids spouses of veterans, the event promises to be one of both reflection and community spirit. Interested attendees can experience more than the ceremony itself, as veteran help groups will be staffing displays from 9 to 11 a.m. and from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the east parking lot near the memorial, offering a chance for engagement and support for veteran-related issues.
