As reported by FOX 10 Phoenix, the lockdown was initiated at around 4:15 a.m. after the college received a threatening phone call from an individual claiming to be on campus with a firearm. The lockdown affected all seven locations of the community college, including Prescott, Clarkdale, and Sedona, among others.
The threat led to a swift response by multiple law enforcement agencies in Yavapai County, alongside the college's Campus Safety. After a comprehensive sweep of the college's facilities, officials deemed the threat unsubstantiated, with no injuries reported. Although the all-clear was announced just before 11 a.m., the college remained closed for the remainder of the day for precautionary measures and to aid an ongoing investigation, as detailed in a statement acquired by KTAR News.
The lockdown occurred during the interval between academic sessions, as the spring semester had wrapped up the previous week and the summer session is slated to begin on June 2.
