On a Saturday morning in May, a robbery unfolded on the streets of Northeast Washington, resulting in a swift response from law enforcement. According to a report by the Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 600 block of 21st Street NE following a robbery incident. The victim reported being approached by multiple suspects, one of whom brandished a handgun and forcibly took the victim's belongings. Although the suspects managed to flee, the victim fortunately did not suffer any injuries.
The police quickly made progress in the case. On Tuesday, they arrested a 13-year-old boy for the robbery. He was charged with Armed Robbery involving a gun and taken into custody by court order. While this arrest is a step forward, the case is still open as police look for more suspects. Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward, as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department.
To help prevent more violence and get the public involved, the Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to arrests and convictions in violent crimes.
