
An early Saturday morning in Akron turned tragic with the death of a 24-year-old man from a gunshot wound. Cleveland 19 reported that the Akron Police Department received calls around 3:42 a.m. and responded to the incident on the 600 block of Darrow Road.
Found by officers at the scene, the young man was quickly administered emergency first aid, but despite their efforts, and having been taken to the hospital, he was pronounced dead afterwards. According to Cleveland.com, no arrests have been made, and the identity of the man has yet to be released to the public.
The Akron Police Department's Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit are investigating the case, seeking to determine what led to this fatal incident. Details of the shooting are scant, and police are urging anyone with information to assist by coming forward.
