
This morning, San Francisco's Richmond district was abruptly awakened by the outbreak of a 4-alarm fire that blazed through a row house on Fifth Avenue, near Balboa and Anza Streets. Reports from the San Francisco Fire Department confirmed that the fire involved three multi-residential buildings initially, escalating to affect five structures. Despite the intensity of the flames, no injuries were reported at the time of the emergency response, which deployed over 130 firefighters to the scene.

The dramatic footage of the fire captured large flames emerging from the windows of an affected row house. The KTVU report highlighted an unfortunate casualty amid chaos, a family's cat. A firefighter sustained minor injuries during the firefighting efforts. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire, which remains unknown.
Evacuation protocols were promptly initiated, with the local fire department personnel conducting door-to-door evacuations in the 500 block of Fifth Avenue. As the situation developed, those evacuated were directed to a temporary evacuation point at Fifth and Cabrillo. The American Red Cross was present to assist those affected, and Muni buses were repurposed to serve as evacuation centers.
