
A fatal crash claimed the life of a 51-year-old man last Friday night in Houston, according to local police. The Houston Police Department has identified the man as Kip Thompson.
As reported by the City of Houston News, the incident took place at 4300 South MacGregor Way around 11 p.m. when a blue Ford Explorer, traveling northbound in the 5200 block of Cullen at South MacGregor Way, "struck a dead end wall," as per the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division. The HPD Dive Team, with HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Richards and Officer C. Moralez handling the case, pulled the vehicle from the water.
Upon arrival at the scene, paramedics from the Houston Fire Department pronounced Thompson deceased. It was reported that no other persons or vehicles were involved in the accident. The official release from the City of Houston stated that the driver "failed to control speed." The investigation into the exact cause of the crash is ongoing.
