69-Year-Old Man Fatally Ejected in Salem Lakes Crash, Kenosha County Investigates Cause

A 69-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of a car crash in Kenosha County. The tragic incident occurred last Friday evening, just before 7 p.m., along State Highway 50 in Salem Lakes, as reported by FOX6 News.

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office said that the man was heading east when his pickup truck veered off the road, struck a large rock and then a tree, which resulted in the driver's ejection from the vehicle. According to information obtained by WISN, authorities are investigating what caused the crash to occur. Emergency services from the sheriff's office and the Village of Salem Lakes Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene on State Highway 50 and 75th Street shortly after the incident was reported.

First responders attending the crash site found severe damage to the vehicle. "The pickup truck operator, and sole occupant, was fully ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Kenosha County Medical Examiner's Office," detailed a report by West of the I. In light of this fatality, the Kenosha County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) was also dispatched to the scene to aid in the investigation.

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Office has expressed its condolences, stating, "The sheriff's office said their thoughts are with those who were impacted by this tragic crash," a sentiment echoed through various reports. The Sheriff’s Office has issued a reminder for the community to adhere to the posted speed limits and to avoid distractions while driving. They also encourage anyone with information regarding the crash to reach out to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office, although, the name of the victim has not been released out of respect for the family's privacy, as reported by WISN.
