The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation is in the business of bolstering community efforts, and this May, they've stepped up yet again, dishing out grants totaling a hefty $487,187 to five local initiatives. These new funds sling a financial lifeline to programs focused on food security, education, city beautification, and more, as per the City of Arlington.

Leading the charge, Arlington Charities, Inc. snagged $186,687 for their ‘Groceries with Dignity’ program aiming to patch up the holes in the social safety net by handing out fresh eats to families, all the while planning to enhance accessibility through an After-Hours Grocery Program and expand their Home Delivery Program for those who can't make the journey themselves because of high food costs and inflexible service hours, which make it difficult for working families to get help and consequently they have to choose between life essentials, like rent, gas, and groceries, according to the City of Arlington.

Meanwhile, the Arlington ISD Education Foundation is pooling $25,000 to ensure school-bound kids have the tools they need to learn, aiming to kit out 8,000 students from low-income households with backpacks and supplies for the 2025 school year. Cleanliness is also getting a cash injection with the City of Arlington Asset Management's Clean Corridor Program scoring $218,000 to keep the city spick, span, and graffiti-free, with new work trucks and gear, ready to load up with the crews aiming to maintain Arlington’s aesthetic.

On the educational front, Inspired to Live Ministries' no-cost, four-week ITL Summer Day Camp plans to tackle the educational divide head-on, by gifting 150 disadvantaged elementary and middle school students with the gift of knowledge, courtesy of a $7,500 grant that targets reading, math skills, and the learning gap that disproportionately affects students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and in the same breath, serves up meals free-of-charge, as a cherry on top.

Lastly, Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County is stacking $50,000 of the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation’s dough to dish out 5,555 hot meals to the city's most vulnerable, with the aim to simmer down food insecurity, social isolation, and health concerns. Since its inception, this foundation has shelled out nearly $44 million over 500 grants to groups and projects pitching in to polish up the public's quality of life in Arlington.
