The city of Baltimore is grappling with the aftermath of a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a young man in the Southwest District. As reported by Baltimore Witness, the Baltimore Police have identified 23-year-old Lavar Steeles as the victim of the incident that occurred last Friday. Police were called to the scene in the 1500 block of West Fayette Street.
Responding to an alert about a walk-in shooting victim at approximately 12:13 a.m., police discovered Steeles at a hospital, suffering from gunshot wounds. Attempts by medical personnel to save his life were unsuccessful, and he later succumbed to his injuries.
In their search for answers, homicide detectives are urging the community to come forward with any potentially helpful information.
