A tragic event unfolded this past Friday when a fatal crash took the life of a Banks resident. The Oregon State Police reported a single-vehicle accident on Highway 47 in Washington County, near milepost 81. According to the announcement, the crash occurred around 8:54 p.m., claiming the life of 72-year-old Jeannine Bradvice.
The initial findings by the officials indicate that Bradvice's vehicle, a blue Subaru Forester, was heading north before losing control. The situation resulted in a devastating scene where her car veered into a ditch on the highway's west side, and subsequently collided with a tree. Tragically, Bradvice was pronounced deceased at the incident site.
Investigations are still underway, but early reports suggest that speed may have been a factor contributing to the unfortunate outcome. The repercussions of the crash weren't confined to the loss of Bradvice, as the highway was also closed for an extended period. Traffic flow was disrupted for approximately three and a half hours while the on-scene investigation took place.
The Oregon State Police weren't alone in responding to this incident, as they were assisted by a collection of local services. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Banks Fire and Rescue, American Medical Response (AMR), and the Oregon Department of Transportation all provided critical support during the emergency response and subsequent investigation.
