
On Wednesday afternoon, a Bexar County sheriff's deputy was involved in a traffic collision on the Southeast Side of the city, sparking an internal investigation by the sheriff's office. The incident, which occurred around 2:30 p.m., took place in the 5300 block of Southeast Military Drive, as reported by KTSA. Reports indicate that one person, not the deputy, was transported to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
The sheriff's office confirmed that the crash happened at the intersection of City Base Road and Southeast Military Drive, located to the west of Interstate 37. The details surrounding how the crash unfolded still remain under investigation, with the authorities striving to swiftly ascertain what exactly led up to the mishap. A deputy's vehicle, issued by the department, and another car were the vehicles involved in the collision, according to KSAT.
The deputy’s vehicle had front-end damage, but the officer wasn’t hurt and walked away from the crash. The other car was badly damaged in the front, and that driver was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, as per KTSA.
