Two San Antonio brothers wanted on felony warrants for robbery and organized criminal activity are now behind bars after U.S. Marshals tracked them down on West Gerald Street on the city's Southwest Side. Dylan Talley, 21, and Jesse Talley, 20, were taken into custody around 12:11 p.m. Thursday in the 3100 block of the street, authorities said.
The arrests stem from a violent robbery earlier this month in the parking lot of South Park Mall, according to WOAI. The Talley brothers were taken into custody following a joint operation by the U.S. Marshals and San Antonio police, with assistance from the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, per KTSA.
According to an arrest affidavit cited by Fox San Antonio, the attack began when a woman noticed a black sedan circling the mall's lot and approached her own vehicle, believing it had been broken into. A man walked up and asked her for the time, then punched her in the face and grabbed her gold necklace, the affidavit states. The woman fell and was reportedly struck several more times before the man fled in the black sedan.
Victim Left With Visible Injuries
The woman suffered a visible facial injury, and her broken glasses were found nearby, the affidavit says. The station's report notes investigators linked a third man, Juan Diego Vasquez, to the robbery alongside the Talley brothers.
Vasquez reportedly confessed to the robbery and told investigators both Talley brothers were also in the vehicle at the time, per the same account. The affidavit adds that Jesse Talley pawned the victim's necklace for $800 the day after the robbery.
Traffic Stop Led Investigators to Suspects
Investigators said all three suspects were later found together in a car registered to Jesse Talley after officers stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation, according to the affidavit described in the article. That stop appears to have been a key break in tying the trio to the mall parking lot attack.
Both brothers were booked at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center on the outstanding felony warrants, News 4 San Antonio reported, noting the two brothers were taken into custody without incident. The arrests close out an active search for suspects connected to a robbery that left a shopper bruised and bloodied in a mall parking lot many San Antonians pass through regularly.
