
The Blount County Sheriff's Office announced its 3rd Annual Spring Into Action, Meet Your Local Heroes event at the sheriff's training facility. The family-friendly event is scheduled for one week later. It gives residents a chance to meet local first responders and service animals, as reported by the Blount County Sheriff's Office.
The free event will feature K-9 demonstrations and presentations by SWAT operators and members of the Corrections Emergency Response Team. The Sheriff's Office Mounted Patrol and helicopter pilots from Lifestar and the Tennessee Army National Guard's Task Force Smokey will also be present to explain their roles and equipment. Family activities include face painting and food trucks, as stated by the Blount County Sheriff's Office.
According to the Blount County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page, certified child safety seat technicians will be available at a free event at the sheriff’s training facility, 1431 William Blount Drive, to assist parents with properly installing car seats. The facility is located near Newell Rubbermaid, with signs directing visitors. The event will provide safety information and an opportunity for the community to learn about local emergency services.
