In Boulder City, the Police Department co-hosted the annual police and fire awards ceremony last Thursday. The event, shared on their social media, recognized officers and firefighters for their service and actions performed beyond their regular duties, as reported by the Boulder City Police Department.
Boulder City police attended the unveiling of a statue at Wilbur Square in honor of Shane Patton, a local Navy SEAL who died in service. During the same period, officers responded to several incidents involving alcohol and drugs. One driver, who had "a little too much happy juice," damaged two vehicles and left without providing information. "After locating the individual, officers determined he showed signs of impairment and assisted him to jail." Several others were also arrested on suspicion of DUI, including one case involving Fentanyl, as stated by the Boulder City Police Department.
A person was arrested after attempting to flee with stolen makeup products stuffed in their pants pockets. The extra items reportedly slowed the suspect down, leading to their capture. Authorities later found drug paraphernalia in the suspect's possession. According to the Boulder City Police Department on their Facebook page, “Another pro tip (aside from not stealing) is to not do drugs, or leave your drug paraphernalia in your pocket when committing other crimes.”
