Mayor Aaron Brockett voiced the grief felt through the city's streets, stating, "My heart goes out to the victims, their families, their loved ones, and all who were impacted by today's tragic incident," as per the City of Boulder. Boulder City Manager Nuria Rivera-Vandermyde also expressed her deep sorrow over the day's events, deciding on restraint regarding speculation on the motive, she underscored the rejection of violence and hatred within the bounds of the community she serves. "I am keeping those who were injured and everyone else impacted by this horrible crime close to my heart," Rivera-Vandermyde stated, as obtained by City of Boulder, commending local and state law enforcement and federal partners who are ensuring the pursuit of justice.
